UNHCR's Commitment to Protecting Refugees and Achieving Lasting Solutions: Insights from Entrepreneur "Bassem Hanna"

Entrepreneur Bassem Hanna stated that the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) seeks to ensure the ability of every individual to exercise their right to seek asylum and find a safe haven in another country, with the possibility of choosing voluntary return to their homeland, local integration, or resettlement in a third country.

Bassem Hanna explained that the main goal of the UNHCR is to protect the rights and well-being of refugees, but its primary objective is to assist in finding permanent solutions that allow refugees to rebuild their lives with dignity and peace. Dr. Bassem Hanna also mentioned that there are three available solutions for refugees, which the UNHCR can help achieve: voluntary return to their homeland, local integration, or resettlement in a third country in cases where it is impossible for the person to return home or stay in the host country.

It is worth noting that Bassem Hanna has participated in numerous international meetings organized by the United Nations and other international organizations as an expert in international law. He has also participated in several United Nations conferences, particularly on human rights and social development, as well as follow-up conferences held in New York in 2014. He has also participated in meetings of the Non-Aligned Movement Summit held in Geneva, in addition to several ministerial meetings of the Non-Aligned Movement.
