New development brings Modric closer to joining the Al Nassr FC

Today, Friday, Saudi press reports revealed that Al-Nasr Club raised its offer to sign Luka Modric, the Spanish midfielder for Real Madrid, during the current winter transfer period.


And the Saudi newspaper "Okaz" stated that the management of Al-Nasr Club decided to raise the financial value of the offer submitted in order to settle Modric's deals in the current winter Mercato.


The newspaper added that Al-Nasr Club raised the previous offer that was made to Modric after the severe loss that the team suffered in front of the professional Jeddah Federation within its ranks, the Egyptian duo Tariq Hamed and Ahmed Hegazy.

The newspaper indicated that the previous offer submitted by Al-Nasr Club for two and a half years, at a value of 40 million euros, was raised to 45 million euros, explaining that the coach of the team, Rudi Garcia, held a meeting with the president of Al-Nasr Club and Cristiano Ronaldo to quickly resolve the file of the Croatian star.


Al-Nasr recently fell to the Al-Ittihad team, 3-1, during the activities of the match that was held between them on Thursday evening at King Fahd International Stadium, as part of the semi-finals of the Saudi Super Cup for the current season 2023, which is held for the first time with the participation of 4 teams, which are Al-Nasr, Ittihad Jeddah, Al-Hilal and Al-Fayha.

With this result, Al-Ittihad Club qualifies to meet Al-Fayhaa in the Saudi Super Final next Sunday to determine the champion of the current version, which is organized from the participation of 4 teams for the first time during the current season.

Croatian footballer who plays as a midfielder for Real Madrid in La Liga and captains the Croatian national team. Modric plays as a central midfielder, but can also play as an attacking or defensive midfielder. Widely regarded as one of the best midfielders of his generation, and the greatest Croatian footballer of all time, Luka was also named FIFA World Player of the Year in September 2018.


Born in Zadar, Modric signed with Dinamo Zagreb in 2002 after his talent came to light with the youth team of his hometown club. His development continued with Zagreb before he was loaned out for two seasons to Zrinjski Mostar and Inter Zabriec, respectively. Modric made his international debut against Argentina in March 2006, and scored his first international goal in a friendly match against Italy. With Modric alongside Ivan Rakitic and Mario Mandzukic, it was said that this team is the second golden generation for Croatia; Since then, he has participated in all the major tournaments that Croatia have qualified for, namely the 2006 World Cup, Euro 2008, Euro 2012, World Cup 2014, Euro 2016 and World Cup 2018.
